Therapractics Purpose Statement
As a Registered Physical Therapist and Chiropractor with over thirty years of experience in treating a variety of spine and extremity injuries and conditions; I have seen the great need to educate the public in a general exercise program. This exercise program will serve to counteract the ever-present effects of gravity on our bodies which will be of great benefit to all.
However, much more important is the development of specific exercise programs designed to address the special needs of the individual’s posture, condition, flexibility, strength, work requirements, hobbies, etc. While Physical Therapy joint mobilization and/or Chiropractic joint manipulation techniques are very beneficial in restoring extremity or spinal mobility; it is extremely important to realize that to neglect the strength and flexibility of one’s body is to render the body more susceptible to injury and pain.
A very important fact that I learned is that muscles and ligaments both cross over the joints. Ligaments simply hold bones together. Muscles also hold bones together, but they also have the capability of moving the bones. I am totally convinced that when muscles are weaker, ligaments become overburdened with the increased requirement to support joints which can be the cause of significant pain. This pain may be completely resolved with a specific exercise program.
Why live in pain when a simple exercise program combined with joint mobilization or manipulation, if necessary, can resolve this problem? If your pain persists and continues to increase; it will command your attention making you less effective in life. I urge you to consider taking the time to call Therapractics, LLC and set an appointment for an exercise program specifically designed for you.
